The Husaini Foundation believes that the decisive battle for our faith will be over personal, family and wider social issues that cause ailments in our community which have led to despair, despondency and disinterest in the personal and spiritual lives of Muslims.

Islam contains within its teachings the ability to address all the personal and spiritual ailments of humanity in all eras. However, the Islamic discourse that is prevalent today and popularly narrated is largely based on a select range of knowledge, subject matters and educational approaches which is appealing less to the mindset of modern Muslims, especially the younger generations. Our speakers and institutions are not effectively addressing this problem.

The guiding commentary of Islamic discourse that addresses the suffering of modern people is not popular and is not being effectively narrated by the speakers and institutions that promote Islam. Making this relevant discourse popular is our mission.

Furthermore, the modern person (particularly the younger generations) is part of a continuum of technological growth and has easy and constant access to an unlimited source of information. This change has led a substantial part of the young and second-generation Muslims (or beyond) to become critical to the extent that they only give merit to discourses that are relevant to them and have measurable and tangible value for their crises.

The traditional style of emotional discourse – although it has its own merits and worked for centuries and is very important to our faith – may not be sufficient enough to cater to the larger segment of our community that does not visit our centers.

We strongly value and intend to further support the existing and popular framework of our Islamic narrative. Our work promotes the existing and established but unfortunately non-popular forms of Islamic discourse that are relevant to the mindsets of the new generations of Muslims while remaining faithful to the message of the Qur’an and the Ahl al-Bayt (as) as taught by the Marjaʿiyyah. With this in mind, the Foundation wants to popularize this relevant, logical and value-based narrative of Islamic teachings in the community and construct value-based and service-oriented projects that target the primary needs and crises of the Muslim community.

As suggested above, the decisive battle for the community’s faith will be in the realm of personal and social character building. We believe that an important aspect of Islamic teachings for today’s crises that need primary consideration and dissemination is that of Islamic character building and its practical principles (akhlāqiyāt).

Addressing the above elements in our community through the narrative of relevancy and character building through our projects is our mission.
